Smart Parts Vibe Paintball Gun Review

Let me say right from the get go, if you're just thinking about starting out in paintball and are looking for your first marker, THIS IS IT! The Smart Parts Vibe is priced at $140,  it doesn't get any better then this, unless you buy from Wal-Mart in which case your marker would break down the first time you used it (exaggeration).

Here I will outline the various features, what's dope and what's not so dope, and lets just say were in for a good time...

Noobie Note: Extra bits of information are added for those of you that would like to pretend you understand, but really in fact have a lot of questions. No need to feel embarrassed, we all have to start somewhere! See videos at the end of the review.

Pretty Sleek For $140

The Low Down...

The Smart Parts Vibe is fast, quiet and very accurate right out of the box. This is because the biggest moving part of the marker is the bolt which is pushed back and forth by very low pressure air. One of the best features of the Smart Parts Vibe is the new 'Max Flow R Vertical Regulator" which has a relief valve in it. The relief valve allows the marker to run on either HPA (High Pressure Air) or CO2, what a bonus!!

Adjusting the velocity is very simple, all you have to do is use the Allen keys supplied by Smart Parts and adjust via the bottom of the regulator. Cleaning and maintaining the Vibe is very easy with just the removal of the bolt from the back of the marker. All you do is take the bolt out, and give that bolt a good lube job, trust me your bolt will appreciate it...</p>

What makes the Smart Parts Vibe so strong and durable? Well it's made of the same material that real handguns are made of, and that is "Glass fibre reinforced nylon".

How Well Does It Shoot?

The Smart Parts Vibe is capped off at 11bps (balls per second), this is plenty fast enough if you're just starting out, as most beginners can not walk over 10 bps (Note: Walking refers to how fast you can manually pull the trigger). The stock 10 inch barrel comes standard on the Vibe and provides very decent accuracy. Although if you want even better accuracy you can always upgrade to a better barrel.

This is a video of Matty Marshall introducing the Smart Parts Vibe (Note: Matty Marshall is a very good paintball player and known figure in the paintball world)

Core Features - Are You Vibin'?

  • Hammer free design: means that even beginning players can now afford a marker with tournament level performance, durability, and simple maintenance. - That's right, even at $140 bucks you too can aspire to the likes of Oliver Lang (Note: Oliver Lang is one of the best speedball players in North America)
  • Protection provided by the Vibe's all-new Max Flow R Vertical Regulator means that it is safe from the dangers of liquid CO2. - Always carry protection...
  • Weight (marker only): 1 lb. 11 oz. - This is very good for maneuverability on the field, getting behind bunkers and tight against trees is a cinch
  • Length (w/out barrel): 8.75 in.
  • Operating Pressure: 180psi - Low operating pressure means less air impacting paintballs so they don't break!
  • Gas Source: HPA or CO2 - Nice!
  • Anti-Chop System: Low force bolt
  • Trigger Pivot: Stainless steel pin
  • Ball Detent: Dual rubber style (Note: Rubber detents tend to wear out quicker then other types of detents)
  • Semi auto firing mode: Semi auto (11bps cap), Three Shot Burst (11bps), and Full Auto (11bps) firing modes - If you don't think this is fast enough then you're probably not hitting your intended target, start off slow and work your way up!
  • Field legal mode lock
  • Runs on one 9 volt battery
  • Standard ASA included: Air Source Adapter is the place where you connect your air/CO2 tank.
  • One piece 10 inch barrel
  • Feedneck: Vertical clamping
  • Aluminum receiver/bolt
  • Glass fibre reinforced nylon grip frame/body: What some real guns are made from, sweet! (Note: Mom, Dad, Guardian, it's a paintball marker not an actual gun)

Pros

  • The Price! You can't beat $140 fellas
  • "Bolt-Out-The-Back" design makes for easy clean
  • CO2 compatibility
  • Looks very nice for the price
  • 11bps is very fast for woodsball
  • Select Firing modes
  • Very Quiet - This is great for sneaking up on the enemy!
  • The Max Flow R Vertical Regulator - See Core Features above
  • Clamping Feed-neck: Great job Smart Parts!

Cons

  • Nothing to see here - Honestly a great marker for the price.

Rating/Recommendations

I would rate the Smart Parts 4.1 out of 5. The Vibe is very cheap and just great for anyone thinking about joining the sport. You should just forget about getting that crazy expensive Ego 8 for now, spend your money on paintballs because you're going to need to learn to aim. So for now I would recommend taking care of the minutes and the hours will take care of themselves.

Kits/Upgrades

Various Kits Available from Barrels, Loaders, and Grips. I personally recommend a new barrel for even more accuracy, because lighting people up is the way to go! Also adding a new loader will give you less chopped paintballs, it's a win win scenario!
