Kingman Spyder Pilot ACS Paintball Marker Review - Check out it's core features, pros and cons, pictures, and of course some wicked video clips of it rippin' 14 bps!
Howdy and welcome to our review of the Spyder Pilot w/ ACS ( anti chop system ). The Spyder is a great paintball gun for people just coming into the sport. It looks cool, shoots fast, and comes standard with the ACS. The ACS works absolutely great by the way.
I shot 2000 rounds with no breaks! The Spider Pilot is a electro-mechanical blowback marker, so it has a little kick to it. Don't worry though, a little kick will not effect your overall accuracy.

Adversity cause some men to break; others to break records

Spyder also implemented a very cool CAMD (color access mode display) for firing modes, yeah you heard right. There's a bunch of firing modes on this baby, this is what you get...
3 Shot burst Fire ( This means when you pull the trigger, 3 balls will
fire)
6 Shot burst Fire
Fully Auto
You also have the option to set your pilot to either 6 bps or 13bps (The Pilot is capped at 14bps)
The electric grip frame is very easy to use. With just a press of the button you're ready to unload paint on target.
The Spyder Pilot looks really cool, it has great milling, and looks very
sleek and stylish. You'd think it would cost a little more then $190 just by checking it out. Yeah you read that right; Spyders MSRP is $190 bucks, that's pretty good!
The Spyder Pilot has very consistent air flow, only fluctuating +/- 5 fps (feet per second). What that means is you're going to get a consistent flow of shots per air/co2 fill.
Cleaning and maintaining is easy as pie with the Spyder Pilot. All you have to do is pull both pins from the back of the marker, wipe it down and lube her up. If you get confused while trying to clean your Pilot, don't worry about it. Kingman sends
a very detailed manual with every marker they produce.
The Spider Pilot is a great bet for a cheap paintball marker. For this price and how good and fast the marker is, you're getting a super good deal.
Core Features - Can You Handle The Pilot?
CAMD (Color Access Display Mode) - Like we talked about before
Sensi-touch straight trigger with multi-adjustment points for enhanced rapid firing - All you need to remember from this is; RAPID FIRING
ACS venturi bolt - Anti Chop System helps reduce broken paintballs in your marker, everyone hates a mess!
Reactive response trigger - capable of up to 20 shots per second - This is good!
Sleek, custom designed receiver - As I mentioned earlier the Spyder Pilot looks very Stylish
Tournament lock switch - So you can play in tournaments
12" aluminum stock barrel - This barrel is pretty decent, but if you want even more accuracy you can always upgrade!
Anti-double feed - Double feed is when a paintball drops in the breech and then another one follows right after. When this happens both paintballs will either break and make a mess, or be shot out together at reduced speed. Thus the term Anti-Double Feed!
Expansion chamber with foregrip - The expansion chamber is a mechanical device that stops liquid CO2 from getting into your marker.
Tournament velocity adjuster - Adjust the speed of your shots
Vertical ball feed
New style drop forward - A drop forward allows the tank to drop down towards the front of the marker, this helps make for better balance and increased
maneuverability!
New two-finger trigger with regulation trigger guard - A two finger trigger will help you fire faster and the trigger guard will stop accidental discharges.
Adjustable trigger pull
Low pressure chamber - What this does is lower the air pressure,
ultimately reducing the impact of air on your paintball.
Bottomline with stainless steel hose
- Stainless steel hoses are great for taking a
beating
Top-cocking bolt
External recharge port
Quick disconnect pin
Adjustable rate of fire - You can adjust from 6-13bps with the press of a button!
Battery power indicator - Very convenient in you're about to go into a firefight
and you realize your battery is low
Operates on CO2 or compressed air
Includes JAVA 9.6-volt rechargeable battery, indoor battery charger and spare parts
Pros
Anti-Chop System - This baby does not chop paintballs rest assured soldier!
The Price - Problem solved at $190
Fast ROF (rate of fire) - Capped at 14bps, but I've seen 20
bps on high end hoppers (semi-auto)
Accurate - You'll be shooting paint on paint right out of
the box!
Grips - I think the grips are a little loose and flimsy -
upgrade?
Feedneck - As with most Spyder markers the feedneck is situated pretty high
- solution... new feedneck!
Rating/Summary
As with all of Kingman Spyder markers comes quality, reliability, and simplicity.
I'm rating the Spyder Pilot w/ACS a 4.6 out of 5. I'm docking
some points because of the stock grip which could be a lot better. If you're
looking for a marker that shoots ultra fast, is super accurate and simple to
use, the Spyder Pilot could be yours! Question is, will you be looking down the
barrel, or into it?

Upgrades
If you're a veteran paintball player, I suggest upgrading these components...
(Note:Beginners don't fret, the Spyder Pilot comes very
well equipped, these upgrades are just meant for added performance).
Electronic Hopper - Take your pick!
Feedneck
Barrel - Stock is great, but slap on new barrel for added
accuracy (Smart Parts Progressive Barrel)
Grips - Consider Dye Sticky grips
