Kingman Spyder MR1 Paintball Gun Review. Listed below are the features,
Kits/Upgrades, pros & cons, upgrades, pictures & videos!
Welcome to the home of the Spyder MR-1, here on this page I'm going to explain everything you need to know about this awesome woodsball marker.
First off probably the best thing about the Spyder
MR1 is the price baby! Drum roll please...$140
measly bucks! That by itself should be enough to solve a
lot of problems for you broke paintball players out
there (well not all of you). The next thing you'll
notice is the paint job. Boy did Spyder ever do a great
job here, the black finish
is great for keeping your marker concealed in the woods.
The Spyder MR1 also comes in matte
olive.
The Spyder MR1 is just as durable and
reliable as the
Tippmann 98 Custom. Moreover the MR1 is a piece of
cake to clean and maintain; remove pin, remove bolt,
clean bolt and your done, simple right? Oh and because
the MR1 is a low-end mechanical marker, it's only
semi-auto. This is not a real factor with the two finger
trigger and anti-double feed ball detents. The MR1
barely chops paintballs, so for you trigger happy guys
out there, let er rip!
Spyder MR1 Features/Specifications
Detachable stock - Integrated dovetail for easy sight placement or for mounting a scope
12" Muzzle Brake Barrel
Two finger trigger - Pull as fast as you can buddy!
Contoured grip with integrated side panels
Matte black finish - Pictures don't do the MR1's paint job
any justice, you just have to see this thing for real
Drop-Forward
Steel braided bottom line air feed - Adds to the MR1's
already durable frame/body
Off-set feed neck for true rifle like sighting - One thing you will realize is that this is a giant lie.
Not the Off-set feed neck, but there's no true rifle like sighting because the
bolt is in the way.
Anti-Double feed ball detent - Big +
Top cocking bolt
What's Dope?
Paris Hilton - The MR1 looks fantastic and even
intimidating.
Mr. Clean - One of the MR1 biggest traits is it's easy to
clean and maintain approach.
Durable & Reliable - Are understatements, the MR1 stands up to the
vigor's of tough scenario woodsball and more, so you can count on the MR1 not
breaking down the moment you get it!
Entry Level Player - Spyder had the beginner in mind when
they built this beast.
MilSim Looks - The ARMY is jealous. Scenario has never been
a better experience with the MR1 in your arsenal.
It's a Spyder - Kingman Group made the MR1...nuff said...
Nope
Weak Elbow - I've heard complaints about the elbow and it being very weak/brittle, simple fix.
Weak Ball Detents - Kingman is working on a fix for this,
the detents tend to wear out a little to fast.
True Rifle Like Sighting - The bolt is located at the top of the marker, and
there has been complaints about seeing down the MR1 stock sights. So they should
have changed that sentence to... "False rifle like sighting!"
Spyder MR-1 - Sniper Kit!
He Will Never See It Coming...
Pro's:
Ummmm.....Sniper barrel?
Great entry level marker
Lightweight Body
Very reliable, and durable, (bring it on!)
Minimal Maintenance Required
Very low chop rate
Perfect for woodsball
For lack of a better word this marker is "beautiful"
Con's:
Short Rail
The grip handle wears easily
Weak elbow (better to upgrade this part)
Rating/Recommendations
I give the Spyder MR1 a 4.8 out of 5.
The Spyder MR1 is true scenario woodsball marker meant for the entry level
player, or simply as a backup paintball gun. It's sleek and intimidating
design will have players in shock and awe.
I would recommend this paintball gun to anyone that is just beginning to
play paintball. The price is a dead giveaway of course, but also
complimented is its easy of use and simple
cleaning process. Just hope that you are the one with the MR1 and not your
enemy.
Keep in mind these are all optional upgrades as the Spyder MR1 performs great right out of the box. For added performance though, I would suggest upgrading to the parts
mentioned above.
